Fescue Grass Vs Bermuda – Make a Decision

You might have read about Bermuda and Fescue grasses a lot if you’re dreaming of a lush, grassy lawn. The turf of both types can be found on well-traveled areas, from front lawns to soccer fields to golf courses. To choose the best grass for your environment, you must do careful research, just as you would with any plant. In addition, you want a lawn that is easy for you to maintain.

Bermuda Grass

Bermuda may be at the top of the list, but it is there for a reason. For this grass to take root in your lawn, it must undergo a whole process. Bermuda grass can be seeded or placed as sod; stolons are above the ground roots, while rhizomes are below. Unless you need your old lawn removed, the average cost of sound sod installation is about $300, plus the cost of the sod itself, which is based on the square footage but can start at around $900. As a result of its green fairways, Bermuda is often overlooked as a golf course that requires Southern conditions and maintenance. There are many weeds, and it involves much watering.

Fescue Grass

In contrast, Fescue is hardier and takes seed more easily than grasses that compete with it. Fescue grass is often regarded as being suitable for roots, but it requires attention to grow properly. If left unattended, Bermuda can grow to an average of two inches, while Fescue can reach several feet. You can choose from several types of Fescue so that your lawn can have the desired appearance.

Are you ready to make a decision?

In your lawn, what kind of grass are you looking forward to seeing grow? Although Bermuda might be hard work, it seems worth it if you’re passionate about a beautiful property. Additionally, hybrid Bermuda makes luscious green more accessible. Unlike other lawns, Fescue requires regular maintenance. Fescue may not be the best choice for someone who lives in the tropics. Start growing your garden of Eden right now, instead of sitting on your porch overlooking death valley.
